Speaking before the event Derek said: “This invitation is recognition of the work of Unitarians to build a more inclusive community in which everyone is accepted for who they are regardless of sex, race, colour or sexual orientation. Equality has always been a fundamental Unitarian and Free Christian value. I am pleased to have the opportunity to represent the Unitarian perspective at this annual gathering convened by the Prime Minister with leaders in the LGBT community. It shows that we have made a real contribution during the debates about a more inclusive society and indeed an inclusive church.” |
