The General Assembly has close historical ties with the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland, including a common Roll of Ministers. The NSPCI has a non-credal basis as does the General Assembly. Most NSPCI congregations are located in Northern Ireland.

There are two Unitarian congregations in the Irish Republic which are also in membership of the NSPCI.
