Welcome to Norcliffe Chapel, Styal

According to the Trust Deed, the Chapel exists for "The worship of God and the furtherance of Christian life free from the fetters of any written or unwritten declaration of doctrine".

Services

Evening service every Sunday at 6 pm

Services also celebrate special occasions, e.g. Christmas, harvest, marriage celebration service. Chapel members extend a warm welcome to all.

Baptisms, weddings and funerals

The Minister makes these services as personal as possible.

Social and musical events

Through the year Chapel members organise events such as Pot Luck Suppers and picnics. The Autumn Organ Recital is becoming a regular and very popular event.

The Chapel is open for visitors during the summer at times agreed with the National Trust.

Children and young people welcome

Children are very welcome. Activities and puzzles are also available for use during services.

The congregation's history

In 1784 Samuel Greg founded Quarry Bank Mill, a cotton mill, at Styal. He built a village for his workers and in 1823 Norcliffe Chapel was opened. The Chapel is now part of the National Trust's Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate.
