Children
We welcome children to our chapel. Currently our young people are supported to take part in residential activities at the Nightingale Centre, our Unitarian centre in Derbyshire. Inter church activities take place for young people across the Merseyside District.
Our history
Early Dissenters were excluded from sending their children onto higher education; this
experience has left a tradition of support within Unitarianism for universal and life-long
education. The early Ministers and congregation were founders of the Warrington Academy.
The present Chapel was built in 1745. The interior dates from 1863. The Chapel has historic
associations with Joseph Priestley, Anna Laetitia Barbauld and John Howard, the prison reformer.
