Web templates for affiliated websites If you are responsible for developing a website for your local district or church, these webpage templates are an essential tool. It is assumed that you have a basic knowledge of websites and know how to upload pages and page elements. IMPORTANT: We regret that we cannot offer technical support so please respect this and try to do your own research in order to solve problems. The templates are a guide only: you are free to change the colour scheme and use a logo appropriate to your context, and to populate the site with your own content, however we ask that the layout remains intact as we aim to make the experience of browsing both GA websites and local websites as seamless as possible. You can download a 'template' site here. If you decide to use the template please inform us. We have used very basic html code to build these pages. If you use an application such as Dreamweaver you will be able to easily adapt these templates. There is a minimal css stylesheet associated with the templates, which controls fonts, a background image and the header image (for example your chapel or congregation). Simply rename your chosen header image head1.jpg, crop it to approximately 300 x 200 pixels, and place this in your images folder, overwriting the existing file. Re-save the css file and upload, overwriting the existing file. We have also made these pages html 4.01 transitional for W3C compliance. Once you have amended the pages you will need to re-validate your pages and correct any errors which you may have inadvertently introduced. |
