Safeguarding Policy: Safe & Sound

The General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches takes the safeguarding and wellbeing of its members very seriously. If you have any concerns, either past or present, you should report them to Gavin Howell. Gavin is the GA Safeguarding Officer.

The GA Safeguarding Policy is now complete and available for all. It can be read online or downloaded. Visitors can click on any item on the contents page to find a specific page or document. Alternatively a hard copy can be ordered from Unitarian Headquarters on 020 7240 2384 and sent by post (cost: £5 plus postage and packing).

Please contact Gavin Howell for questions about any general safeguarding issues and for information about DBS (Disclosure Vetting and Barring Scheme – formally called CRB checks) for Sunday School leaders and youth leaders. For any specific queries regarding DBS for ministers, lay pastors and leaders, or in an emergency when Gavin is not available, please contact Simon Bland. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document is also available online.

The GA Safeguarding Policy document has an index section to navigate easily through the document. To download the Safeguarding Policy document and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) file, click the link below.
