Isle of Erraid Retreat

10-17 Sept 2022 / Isle of Erraid, Scotland

RETREAT INVITATION: ISLAND OF ERRAID

Members of the Findhorn Unitarian Network (FUN) and others who have spent time at the Findhorn Foundation are invited to join a retreat at the Findhorn Foundation community property on the Scottish Island of Erraid. The programme for the week will include an opportunity to take part in the Transformation Game experience, three sessions of work as love in action, time to explore the beauty of the island and an outing to Iona and / or Staffa (extra cost). We will also have the option to join in community meditation sessions.

The Transformation Game® experience has been developed over 40 years at the Findhorn Foundation. It is an interactive tool which provides a way for each participant to deepen your understanding of the way you live your life. It shows you the kind of experiences you create, how you react to them and how you can change your responses to better achieve your goals. There will be two trained facilitators to assist you to achieve your outcomes.

Participation in the Transformation Game experience is not compulsory. If you choose to attend without taking up this opportunity, we will design an alternative peer group programme in consultation with you and others who chose this option.

Board and Lodging

The community will provide all meals (vegetarian) and accommodation will be in cottages in either a twin share room or a double bedroom. Couples are welcome.

Travel to Erraid

The island is close by Iona on the west coast of Mull. By public transport the journey is via Glasgow and Oban, with a ferry to Mull and a bus to Fionnphort, where we will meet our hosts for the short trip to the island. You can travel by car to Oban and then take the ferry and bus, or take your car on the ferry to Craignure on Mull, and then park at Fionnphort. You will need to stay overnight on Friday 9th September either in Oban, or on Mull, but it is feasible to return home to most parts of the UK on Saturday 17th September. Alternatively, you can travel from Forres to Fionnphort on the Findhorn Foundation bus early on Saturday morning.

Costs

For board and lodging, and the full programme including the Transformation Game, the cost is £390. For those who opt not to join in the Transformation Game, the cost is £350. In addition, you need to allow for travel costs. The outing to Staffa will cost up to £40 plus lunch. For people on low wage or benefits, the FUN can offer a subsidy toward the costs. Your chapel or district might be willing to assist with your travel costs. An application form is available from Revd Ralph Catts. A deposit of £90 is required, preferably by May 31 to secure your place
